Is 512mb VRam enough for a 1080p monitor?

I have got a 1080p 60hz monitor that i m replacing with a 144hz 1440p monitor.
Well there's also a old system with a core 2 quad and a gt 210 512mb graphics lying in the garage and i was thinking of using the monitor with that system.
Now the question is should i sell the old monitor or link it to the old system?

Unless you only speak about office applications, browsing and the windows desktop and no gaming the 512MB should be good to display everything you need.

@7664stefan yes the only use for the system will be typing and document editing. My only concern is whether 512gb of Vram will be enough for the 1080p display.
I got another rig for gaming.

Yep that should be enough. playing high quality videos might be a problem though.

Enough for causal work not for gaming
