Is 550w PSU is enough for x99 system?

In our local stores they only have a maximum 550w ( http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002408 ) PSU. They are saying 450w is enough for this system. But I'm confused. I need your expertise. Thank you.

That is a 'mini-van' PSU for a 'race-car' system, I would want something more high-performance. However, your CPU, even if overclocked, should not exceed 200W and the rest of your system will use no more than 150W, closer to 100. Exactly which EVGA 750 do you have? 3751, 53, 57, or 59?

So you could run that system on a good 450W PSU. 550W is plenty. If XFX is available locally, the 550W TS is a very good choice, or the Seasonic SS12II 520W. If you have questions, post a link to a site you might buy from so we can see what you have available.

No. I would not use the PSU. It has enough power, but it needs to be higher performance. XFX or Seasonic. Here's our thinking on good PSUs. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
