So I'm looking at gpus to buy for a first build and I am thinking the asus strix but I don't really know if a 6+2pin would really work on it or if it did it may have problems. So would it work and if it does would it have problems at all.

also why don't PSUs have proper 8pin ones?

6+2 and 8 pins are the same. 6+2 are there so that you can use them as 6 pin or 8 pin. But try not to confuse them with 4+4 Pin EPS connector which plugs to the motherboard.

Isn't the EPS connector the cpu one? also doesn't it have 4+4pin? not 6+2pin?
