Is 6 monitors with GTX 570 SLI possible?

Right now, I'm having GTX 570 SLI with 3 monitors (Surround Display) right now.

But I am getting extra 2 monitors, which makes me able to do 6 monitors display.

I googled about Nvidia graphic cards can only do 2 monitors *per* graphic card, is that mean even GTX 570 SLI can do maximum of 4 monitors?

Not surround display, just activating all display to be able to use it non gaming way.

If not can Radeon 6950 do 4 or 6 monitors with single card?

Since If can.. I am considering to return one of GTX 570 for Radeon 6950.

Or If I just wanna do 6 monitors, non gaming way (NOT surround).

Can I just return single GTX 570 and exchange it for non expensive cards... and use single GTX 570 for single monitor game perhaps?

*main purpose of this is to use 6 monitors for non gaming*

AMD card's have insane support for a LOT of monitors. I think it's like 4 monitors per card or something on the low end versions like 6770. So I think you can have 2 monitors on the GTX 570 and 4 monitors on the 6950. Going to lag if you play games. However, if you don't play games, dual 6790 is a good option.

Hi, Thanks for quick reply.

I got few questions about Radeon card, I know that 6000 series can hold up to 4 monitors (website says 4 and 6 which confuses me...)
As I said I have 2 GTX 570 but I cannot return one of GTX 570 since I bought ages ago... so that's why I am saying exchanging single GTX 570 only.

So my question is that can I just plug GTX 570 (2monitors) and Radeon 6000 series (4monitors) will that works fine for just web surfin etc... activating display.

And for gaming use GTX 570 but ofc single display?, don't think I will be playing games anymore... since you told me going to lag if I play games

AMD just released the driver 11.10 and it adds support for five monitors and I have not heard of anything more than that. Nvidia always lags behind in that department (I DON'T KNOW WHY) but they are always on the ball when it comes to current drivers supporting current games. As far as I know Nvidia supports three monitors.

Right... so I think I'm going to exchange single GTX 570 card to Radeon 6950.

But will GTX 570 and Radeon 6950 works properly? Since its Nvidia and ATI card..

To activate 6 displays, 4 on Radeon and 2 on GTX

You should be fine. Just make sure you don't use vista as it can load only one GPU driver.

Some 6000 cards support 3, 4 or 6. Depending on which. I just bought a used 5770 on ebay for 75 bucks for my kids pc which i just picked up 3 used monitors for almost nothing. As for me, Im having a hard time deciding what cards to purchase for my pc I just built. I already have $1300 built into it and have another $800 to burn on cards but just can't seem to pull the trigger with new cards coming out. Man I want to play bf3 with my new 3 monitor set up but I dont want to regret any thing later.

Right after GPU is where it talks about what SLI mode you need to be running for it to work. Nvidia cards can only run 2 monitors per card! Period! The sole exception are their "x2" cards.
