Hi everyone, this is my first time posting at Toms so if I make any mistakes please feel free to call them out. My question today is whether or not a 600w power supply will be sufficient for my upcoming build. I ask this because Im running a bronze certified 600w PSU and would rather not fork over the cash for an upgrade on that part if its not needed, my system is as follows

AMD FX8350 8-core Vishera 4.0ghz w/ Coolermaster EVO Hyper 212
ASUS 970 PRO GAMING/AURA MOBO
ASUS GeForce 960GTX Strix 4gb
16gb (2 8gb) DDR3-1600 G.Skill Ripjaw RAM
Samsung EVO 240gb SSD
Seagate 1TB HDD
Saphira T-Esports Gaming Mouse
Rosewill APOLLO Mechanical keyboard (Backlit Cherry Red)
Rosewill Stealth ATX Mid Tower w/Red LED accents
5 x 120mm fans (2 front, 2 top, 1 rear)

Also aside the main question there's the optional query of what you guys would recommend for a good mid tower in the 80$ or less range. I prefer the black/red color motif but its by no means a "MUST HAVE". Thanks for helping out.

That's a nice build you have going there. Specifically for that processor and card, I would take it to 650W. That video card you have will need the extra horsepower. Nice rig!

the current PSU is EVGA 80 PLUS Bronze 600W. I may just run with it for now, I dont plan on overclocking the CPU as its already good enough for pretty much any tasks at hand. I have been thinking too that you guys are probably right, Ill probably just run less intensive games on it while I wait to get a bit more money up and just get a PSU with power to spare like a 750w. I've been slow building this rig over a few months now, buying parts when sales are good. All thats left is the mobo and the tower itself.

Hey man, You can keep using your 600W for now without any worries.
I think at most your setup can pull around 450W. In fact I would be very surprised if you can even hit that mark. Enjoy your games.

Hi "CallMeSlim"! Did you purchase your 970 Aura motherboard yet, & if so, where did you buy it from? Im having issues getting mine from Newegg.com it seems. Check my profile for my post.

Hey there, I had pre ordered from newegg but they sent me an email saying they couldn't complete the order on 1/19. They seemed to have taken more pre orders then their stock could handle is my guess, but I don't know if that's official

If you read my post, my order history has mine listed with the status of "Pre-order" still with no updated info. Hopefully they get more stock soon. What date did you pre-order, yourself?

I had placed my pre order on 1/16 so later than most, they have been available for pre-order from newegg since they were announced at CES. Could be stock issues, could be that Asus delivered late maybe what with crazy ass weather all over the east coast but that's speculation at best

I placed mine on 1/13, but mine hasn't been cancelled nor updated. If anything changes I'll let you know here, lest I forget.

Looks like a pretty solid build btw, but from what I've read the R9 380x is better than the GTX 960 and you can get the R9 380x by Asus on Jet.com for only $217 up until Feb. 1st because new customers get 15% off an order!
