Question Is 600watt antec budget power supply enough for R9 290x?

That's a budget low-end PSU from ANTEC. The R9 290X can sometimes eat a lot of power, and that particular PSU model isn't the very best either. It might work, but can you grab some other high quality PSU ? At least a Bronze certified unit ?

Also, some of the R9 290X GPUs, not all, require 1x 6-pin + 1x 8-pin PCI-e connector, so the power draw is slightly higher, IMO. BTW, according to TechPowerUp's database, in general the AMD Radeon R9 290X draws power from 1x 6-pin + 1x 8-pin power connectors, with power draw rated at 290 W maximum.

Btw, specs of that ANTEC VP unit. The +12V RAIL is rated for 46AMP.

That 80 Plus is just a certification program, to promote efficient energy use in any power supply unit (PSU) (bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum etc.).

It's about how much efficiency the PSU is going to have, under 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load, with a power factor (PF) ~0.9. These certified PSUs will waste less electrical energy, which can help reduce the electricity bills.

Apart from this, there isn't that much of a big difference.

Let's assume that a power supply delivers 300W to the system, but actually only draws 375W from the wall. This means that its efficiency is 375W/300W, i.e 0.8 or 80%. The additional 75Watts produces nothing but heat. The more efficient a PSU is, the less heat it will produce internally, and of course the lower would be its energy consumption. The amount of heat produced is an important measure, since it can have an affect on the performance of the PSU, and also it's lifespan.

The Corsair VS isn't particularly good quality either. If it's a very recent one, the improvement in capacitors (to second-tier Teapos rather than the garbage fire selection before) would be enough that it's OK in a low-power situation, but the 290x is extremely power-hungry. A Corsair CX 550 (not a CX 600 with green letters) is likely the least expensive PSU that I'd use with a 290x.

Corsair cx550 is not available here. I saw some psu calculator the system consumption not crossing 550w....i used this system with a corsair vs450 but too risky thats why dont use the gpu now. In our country power supply is very expensive..Thats why I cant afford 650 watt bronze psu in my budget pc. I have two choice here. I have to pick one of these or have to buy 550w bronze psu.
