Is 60hz refresh rate good enough for gaming?

I have been playing on my computer using my tv and i want to buy a monitor and move it to my room. I was lookng at this monitor: http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Computer-E2414Hx-24-0-Inch-LED-Lit/dp/B00NWEA9XO/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1417606368&sr=1-1&keywords=monitor which has a 60hz refresh rate. is this good enoguh for gaming? does this meant that even if im getting 100 fps (which i was) on some games, it would truely only be 60? thanks!

I still use a 60hz monitor and I don't have many noticable issues other than some tearing when my FPS is over 60fps. In a lot of cases, Vsync can help with that. If you have a very powerful system that will constantly go above 60fps, then you would benefit more with a 144hz monitor, especially when competitive gaming. Other than that, 60Hz is fine.
