I have an i7 2600 processor and recently I installed a new graphics card (GT 740) and since i've been having a lot of issues, specifically watching videos/streams online. My CPU usage also has been weird lately when watching videos/streams it seems to go through the roof, although when playing games I hardly have any issues, just the odd frame rate drop here and there.

I already posted about that here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answe...h-video-cpu-usage-roof-videos-unplayable.html

I've tried literally everything to sort out my problem, including re-installing windows altogether, but I was wondering whether the temperature could be my problem? Can anyone help.

Solution
it sure does! see how your CPU fan is at 100% even at idle?? theres a problem there, the fan might have been damaged or disconnected when the new GPU was installed. it shouldn't be running 75 C at idle. check the connections and also run the system without the side panel to see if the cpu fan is spinning
I'm not the best with this stuff but heres a screenshot I took: http://postimg.org/image/ftjzfzw5b/full/

I'm not quite sure, does this help at all? http://postimg.org/image/ftjzfzw5b/full/

Those temps arent good at all. If you just got the system or just had it built, check your cpu cooler and reapply thermal paste. If you have had the system for a while and it just started doing this,id check for a defective or dusty cooler make sure the fans are spinning and everything

My 2600K doesn't get hotter than 75C and that's overclocked to 4.5Ghz and stress testing with Prime 95 and all cores at 100% load. Admittedly I have a good aftermarket cooler but 90C is way too hot for Sandy bridge. As said above you very likely need to reinstall the cooler with new thermal paste. Make sure you clean all the old paste off with something like a coffee filter ( lint free ) and rubbing alcohol.

Okay so I opened up my computer and low and behold a wire was trapped in the CPU fan, i recently had to take it into a shop as I blew my old motherboard by installing a wrong RAM stick (I'm an idiot I know) All fans working now, here is another photo, does this look right now? Thanks

Thanks so much, for the past week I've been wondering what the hell was up with it.
