Is 80 degrees too hot for intel i5 7600k?

I realized when I was running benchmarks (mostly the heaven benchmark) that my cpu would eventually become as hot as 80 degrees. Should I be worried? It never seems to go above 80. I have a hyper 212 evo cooler and I applied the paste that came with it about half a year ago. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I don't know a lot about cpu cooling.

This review might be useful, the temps don't seem to go above 70 degrees in it...

Thanks in advance for any answers.

No, 80C is about 5-10 degrees more than what you should keep your CPU at. 80C won't really damage it much, but still above 70C isn't very good anyway. If slightly hotter temps are something that don't worry you as long as there's no damage to the part, then you can run it at 80C, though I recommend lowering your overclock to at least bring temps to 75C, if not 70C.

Thanks for the answer, but I didn't overclock it, any tips to keep it a bit cooler? Should I reapply thermal paste? I hear cooler master's paste isn't very good. Would a better paste give me significantly lower temps?

80C without overclocking is definitely not good. Re-apply thermal paste(new one of course) and make sure the cooler sits properly. If you're removing the cooler, make sure to re-apply the paste, because thermal paste can not be re-used. I don't know if better paste will reduce temps significantly, but what I do know is that these aren't normal temps, so a better paste would actually be a good idea. Are you sure the cooler is working properly(ie fans are spinning at good speeds) and that the software is reporting the correct temps?
