Hello guys. So I have a new computer with gtx 1070 Ti and when I play (Witcher3) it gets to 82°C and I red that the a normal temp is around 65-70. So my question is could this damage my gpu in the long run, and if it does how can I prevent it?

Temperature, depends on a lot of things. The ambient temperature of the room you are in with the computer, could easily be the issue. If your room temperature is 30C instead of 22C, it makes a big difference. Then you have the air flow of the case, the quality of the fans on the case and the GPU.

That temperature is a bit on the high side, but not overwhelming. I would take a look at all your cooling.

While it's not terrible, it's certainly not ideal. Have you tried a more aggressive fan curve? How's the airflow in your case. Provide a little more info on your system, it will be easier to help you then.

Yeah so this is the whole configuration :) and ty for the response guys :)

I fully agree they run warm, and are designed to take it. But the temp limit on the 1070 is 82c, so at that 80-81c wouldn't it be pulling back and throttling? With the airflow being good in that case, the card, imo, should be running cooler. Around the 72-75c range. I would try and run a custom fan curve via some tuning software.Like msi afterburrner.

Guys I found the problem, so the guy that installed my windows also installed ASUS GPU TweakII (thats where I noticed the temp) and I looked up the advanced settings and saw that the GPU temp goal was set to 83c I immediately lowered it and now it's all fine :) fan is working at around 40-50% Gpu is 70c. I just noticed that im running with around 5 to 10 lower fps but maybe im just imagening anyway tnx for the help :)

That's not a temp goal, that's a temp limit. So if you lowered that number, the fps loss is probably real, as you basically told the card to throttle performance at a lower temp.

Try to turn the temp limit back to 83 and apply a more aggressive fan curve. Maybe try to manually adjust the fan curve. If it's an Asus card, it's got a very mild fan curve factory and will run warm. Mine certainly did. Set the fans to run at about 40-50% at 50ish and go up from there, so at 80 the fans are about maxed.

You mean that at about 80c the fans run at 100% speed or that I should not go over 80% speed ? Otherwise thank you :)
