[SOLVED] is 84c too hot for GTX 1060 3gb Zotac?

the GPU ran 44c on idle, but when I gaming like Destiny 2 it increase to 84c. Is it safe at this temp?

Yes, the typical throttle point on the 10 series is 83C, so it is hitting its top end. The GPU itself is good to 100 or 105C. Nvidia limits it so the clock speeds can stay relatively high.

You can see if you can increase fan speed to get it a little cooler. Or increase airflow to the chassis to try and get the heat out.

Yes it will work still with some thermal throttling

No it is not ideal and will potentially shorten the lifespan of the GPU

I would see about improving case airflow if possible

Even though it is safe and below the max temps for that GPU, I will try to keep it around 75°.
Turn up GPU fan speed (MSI Afterburner) or increase case airflow inside case or both.
