[SOLVED] is 85 °C too hot for cpu at 100% load

hello

so recently i OC'd my core 2 duo e6550
2.33 ghz to 2.59 ghz now i am getting 45 degrees on idle and 85 on gaming and 100% load

so i just want to know if that is safe or too hot and (dangerous)

Probably okay. I would check the temps on the motherboard just to be safe, if your VRMs are north of 105C that might not be so good.

Though it depends on your preparedness to replace this hardware. Pretty outdated, and the cost of entry for a replacement quad core has never been lower.

check all temp in system with hwinfo you might need to lower the overclock and check the case air flow also if the paste on the cooler been on for more then a few years a repaste might help .

ok thank you i am actually planning to upgrade soon and the temps on mobo are little bit cold so yeah thank you again
