[SOLVED] Is 8gb vs upgrading to 16 on older pc make necessary improvement in gaming?

Is older pc, am upgrading GPU card for gaming and wonder if there'd be any necessary improvement in adding an additional 8gb ram=16ttl. Or is it fine with the 8 is has; just simple gameplay; GTA5 good example of max load. Don't want to sink extra money into it if don't have to, can't use the old DDR3 1333MHz in future build.

DDR3 prices are rising. Unless you find used or are planning to utilize the system for a while longer it’s hard to justify the pricing (for some systems).
My thoughts are that if don’t already have an SSD, might consider that first? According to current usage of course, but 8 is what I would consider a bare minimum.

As programs are continuing to bloat, so are memory requirements. I would move to 16gb asap to avoid higher prices when ddr3 supplies become less.

I keep thinking that this current pc is going to be for the next year or so but who knows, they might have it for the foreseeable future if the motherboard doesn't give out, so guess upgrading the memory to 16gb is worth it. Are these 1333MHz-PC3-10600 good ones?

Yep, max it out while you can because once supplies become less, it will be much, much more expensive.

As far as that memory, it's probably fake--being imported into a port city and pumped out via ebay as if it was legit. Used ones like these are cheaper and more likely to be legit:

Thanks, I wouldn't want that; but they've sold almost 3000 of them and I looked at the feedback for that item # and there's 128 feedbacks, all positive so seems legit; but maybe will look for those used ones just to be on the safe side.

And those numbers can be faked as well as ebay benefits from peddling that crap. I'd go with the used. I've been burned by buying nics from sellers like that and they were fake even though they were sealed Intel branded. Even Intel told me they were fakes. First and last time I got burned on ebay.

Assumed was 2x4gb sticks but are 4x2gb so all would need replaced, unless I find deal used would be $60. Is 8 really going to suffer under moderate gaming with GTX1050ti, most intensive game example would be GTA5. Oh, and if looking used, can I use any ram as long as it meets: DDR3 DIMM (240 pin) 1333Mhz PC3 10600. Or as from Crucial's scan of the PC: 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800)
Dell says 4gb sticks, but have read people successfully using 8gb sticks of the DDR3.
