I am a laptop user. The model of my laptop is Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-572G-57N0. (less than 1 year of usage)

-Windows 10 64bit
-Intel Core i5-6200U Dual-core 2.30- 2.80 GHz,
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M with 4 GB Dedicated Memory,
-8 GB, DDR4 SDRAM
-1 TB HDD.

According to Hwinfo and Throttlestop, My CPU temperature can reach up to 95 C every time i play video games and my idle temperature is at least 40 c to 55 c.

Most games have some slight FPS drop even though i have high average FPS. For example, when i play Battlefield 4 on medium settings, the FPS is usually around 50-60 but it can drop to 30 for 1-2 seconds then it rise back to 50-60 fps. This is getting frustrating because it affects most games.

I updated my windows, Nvidia drivers, direct x. I even reinstalled my windows as well, still no improvements.

May i know is 95c Normal for i5-6200U ? and what are teh suspected issues of my laptop?

Thank you

No No, 95C is not normal. Tho laptop seems to run hott while gaming but DONOT use "High Performance" Mode in power option for gaming because turbo boost makes your CPU more hot and results in FPS DROPS masivelly or randomly which is kinda annoying.
I'd Suggest you to use Balance PowerPlan with Maximum Processor state "99" ( so that it off the turbo boost )

I believe the FPS drops you mention are caused by the lack of RAM installed. Now don't get me wrong, 95 C is within spec, but not ideal because 90 C +/- is when the Intel CPU's begin to throttle. This means that they're lowering the frequency (voltage follows) in order to minimize the heat output. If the temperature keeps rising, your PC will shut down, this happens between 100 C and 105 C typically.

This is normal, and still can't and won't damage your PC/CPU in any way shape or form. Now because you're not experiencing even bigger FPS drops, it makes me wonder if the readings you get are actually correct. The Tjunction is 100 C, but throttling is definitely 90 C.

@waqas17 - Thank you for your answer, i tried both High & Balanced mode while reducing the processor rate from 100 to 99. Still the same 🙁

@Suzuki - Thank you for your answer, sorry, i entered wrong information. I actually have 8 GB ram installed. so, i dont think i am lacking of ram. I understand that it is normal to throttle but is it normal to reach over 90 c for a laptop which is just around 2-3 months old ?
