9600k its a worse choice because it misses MT, some instructions, higher TDP and a lower cache

It would likely depend if what you are doing can use more than 6 threads of the 9600k

also would depend on the OC you plan for the 9600K and whether you get any benefits from MT.
The ability to OC may result in way better per core performance

also factor not having iGPU on the latter chip and motherboard upgrade costs
