I accidentally got a little bit of thermal paste in my motherboard socket and was wondering if using
MG Chemicals 824 99.9% Isopropyl Alcohol Electronics Cleaner safe to get a little on the inside of the motherboard AMD4 socket. The link below is the thermal paste I was talking about. I was gonna use a small 1mil probe and some of the MG Chemicals Isopropyl Alcohol. The link below is the motherboard socket I'm talking about. Obviously, I'm gonna make sure no power is running through the motherboard and I'm gonna let it all dry out. Just wanna make sure it's safe.

These are the two alcohol sprays I'm referring to.

Either of those should work fine and should not damage the plastic socket.
But if I was in your situation, I would would probably use Electronic Contact Cleaner just to be sure it won't leave some residue that could cause a problem.
I personally would try just spraying the Isopropyl into the socket, let it soak for a few seconds and then flip the motherboard upside down and spray it again and see if the thermal paste will run/fall out, even if it takes multiple times.
I would not try inserting anything into the socket.
Doing that will likely damage the socket.
Again, I would NOT insert anything into the socket until you have tried spraying it multiple times.
Patience is definitely going to be the key in your situation.

So I can spray this directly into the AMD4 socket and as long as I let it completely dry, it should be fine? Just double checking. Thanks. You would you recommend the Electronic Contact Cleaner over the 99.9% Isopropyl Alcohol for the AMD4 socket cleaning? Sorry for all the questions. Just kind of paranoid when it comes to working with electronics. Thank you for all the help man

Yes you can absolutely spray it directly into the CPU socket.
It is specifically designed to be safe for use on electronics (like a motherboard).
And yes, I personally would use Electronic Contact Cleaner if I had thermal paste in the CPU socket of my motherboard.
And Again, I can't stress enough how important patience will be for you when doing that.
I also recommend that you check YouTube and see if there are any guides to doing this posted by a reputable source.

Okay. Thank you! The red circled part is the only small spot I found thermal paste in the socket at the moment. Hopefully it won't be to much of a pain to get out. I just hope the spray won't push it further inside the socket. Wish me luck.
