Is a 1050 ti good enough?

I'm building a computer for the first time and I am unsure on a good graphics card to choose that is cheap. I don't need it to be a good card for gaming, my primary and almost only use of the computer will be using editing programs like After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and possibly Cinema 4D. I'm on a pretty strict budget so been trying to get best parts possible in my price range which was originally $1000 but I've maxed it out to $1200 with this build: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/NHccsJ

I don't know much about computers but I've been learning slowly, in my price range the graphics cards I've found are the GTX 1050 ti, I'm not sure if this card is good for editing in those programs so any help will be appreciated. I'm also confused about the difference in the MSI card and the EVGA card. Which out of these two cards will work best?https://au.pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/Cm38TW,pKX2FT,x7s8TW/

Any help with the graphics card or recommendations and possible even improvements on my build will be greatly appreciated! Also any links to stores could they please be from Australian stores? I will also not be Overclocking anything as this is the first build I've ever done and wouldn't even know where to start.

Thanks I'm advance.

Solution
After effects doesnt use gpu at all mate, entirely processor dependant.
Cinema 4d can I believe use nvidia cuda rendering ,but its fairly sketchy.
With the ryzen you actually have enough cpu grunt to render entirely with the cpu.

Is the kendomen better than the tesseract ? yes mate in all honesty, comes with a huge mount of preinstalled cooling.

If your happy with the tesseract its a serviceable enough case.
If the inwin 503 appeals its a nice number & really well made

I would not compromise the storage space to get a 1060 3gb in when this is not primarily a gaming build.

If you're willing to sacrifice the amount of SSD storage space, atx MOBO and modular PSU you could bump up the GPU to a 1060:

totally agree with this configuration. if i were you i would stick with the 6gb version of that card since 3gb are very limiting right now.

Better drives , better GPU for less, better case ,cx550m is more than enough.

Solid performance build though without a doubt

The 6GB version is a little out of my price range. Does it matter that its 3GB compared to the 1050ti being 4GB? I've been told that it matters especially for editing 4k (I'll be editing 2.7k footage though). And I won't be gaming on it, only editing in After Effects and maybe Cinema 4D so is it worth spending the extra money for it?

Not sure what drives are but if it's better I'll take it hahaha. Is the case much better? Don't really like the one that I chose but I prefer it over the Kendomen case.

Appreciate all the help from everyone! Just trying to make sure I get the best bang for my buck.

What do you think of what I wrote above?

Solution

Thank you very much, I'll be going with the build you recommended and the Inwin 503 case. I do have one more question though, after looking at the motherboard and RAM, I've found that the B350 board supports "MEMORY TYPE DDR4-2133 / 2400 / 2666" and the RAM that Ive chosen is DDR4 3000, is this going to cause an issue? I don't know how to overclock or anything like that and didn't plan on doing it but is this going to be a problem?

Thanks a lot everyone! I appreciate the help.

Good choice mate.

You still need a front 120mm far the inwin though - It used to come with 2 , according to the specs you only get a Pre fitted rear exhaust now :-/

Re ram - what board & ram exactly are you going with ??

Most first revision bios's will run at 2666 1t which is good performance wise.
If 3000mhz is not much more expensive than 2666 I would buy it anyway , there's a good chance it will run at 2933mhz if the board is on an upto date bios.

Any other quality, cheap cases preferably under $100 AU? Don't really want to spend more money on fans if I can avoid it.

Edit: what do you think of these two cases? Think I should go for the slightly cheaper one? Or do you have another recommendation. Good reviews: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/xjZ2FT/phanteks-case-phec416pbk

The motherboard and ram that I've chosen is Asus PRIME B350-PLUS and GeIL - SUPER LUCE 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory, whats first revision bios hahaha? Never built a PC before still unsure about some terms.
