I am almost finished with my gaming rig, which has a gtx 760 as a graphics card. I currently have some lousy 19" 5 year old LCD and was looking to get a second monitor. I hear varying things about 120hz monitors, but I know that if I don't get above 120 FPS constantly, then the extra $100+ will be wasted on a screen that is too good for my GTX 760. I want to know if a GTX 760 is a good enough graphics card to have a dual monitor setup AND run a 120hz monitor at full capacity, or if I should just go for a normal 60hz monitor. (btw im using windows on this computer, so I can't expect anything too great out of it)

you do not need 120+ fps to say its a waste xd it will never be a waste...
120 will be smoother than 60hz it will be more responsive to mid to high fps... you might get some lag with high fps in old 60hz monitors cause they are not made for gaming today's tittles... betwen 120 and 144 you woudnt notice that much... but there is some difference... and the difference is a lot bigger betwen 60hz and 120 hz... but in a budget, 120hz is perfect from 60hz

You can't really expect 120fps, Ultra on the latest titles from a GTX 760, so the 120Hz monitor wouldn't be the best choice. That said, if you're looking to play Minecraft or other not-so-demanding games go for it, specially because, once you get used to it, 120Hz will look much better and smooth that 60Hz. I didn't understand that last statement about Windows.....

Thanks! The main game that I play is minecraft, but I am starting to get bored and am now playing other FPS games, so that is good to know. It's kind of sad, though, that my rig is already outdated... I just got the graphics card over christmas 🙁 Atleast the CPU will be good for a while...

It's not outdated. I have a 750Ti and don't consider it outdated. What's outdated is based upon your own expectations.
