You guys need to get off the FPS aspect of it. That has nothing to do with his question. Sure if he is playing a game that his computer can't do 30-40FPS he is going to have issues, but the speed of the display is not going to help or hurt that in anyway. That issue started well before the picture was even sent across the cable to the display to begin with.
The days of a CRT displaying perfect analog pictures at 60hz are over. We have moved on to digital displays that rely on speed in order to keep up and display the pixels needed. In the digital world, speed matters.
