is a 120mm CPU water cooler enough?

im getting a custom pc with a i7-6700 and a 980ti i have no real intensions to over clock just a gamer and i was wondering will a 120mm cpu water cooler be enough?

depending on the cooler.
though even stock cooler shouldn't be dangerous at stock clocks. but I, and many others I'm sure, would recommend a good aftermarket.
