I am upgrading to a gaming PC (I am building it now) and was wondering if I could reuse my dell 1440X900 17 inch monitor from 2007. Would this be fine to game on until I can upgrade or should I set some money aside to upgrade ASAP?
Could you share your new specs? 1440x900 is just fine for a 17 inch monitor, I have a dell monitor too with the very same resolution, if it has a DVI cable support just use it for sharper display than VGA.
I'm running a 780 ti with an fx-8350 (it was on sale soooo)
in that case mate you really want to upgrade to a 1080p screen minimum. if the screen is to small it can cause the gpu to bottleneck the cpu more easily especially with games that dont stress the gpu and throw of high fps.

its hd mate 900p
720p is the base standard for hd so your well past that....
as for the monitor it will depend on the gpu your buying.
if its a powerfull enthusiast grade card then get the biggest screen you can. if its something like a 750ti then it will be more than happy to run at 900p

Why can't you? :O Of course you can, I have a feeling you missed something that you wanted to ask.
I wasn't sure if a 2007 moniter would be comparable. I haven't heard 1440X900 much and have no clue if it is hd.
i have an old Samsung 1440x900 monitor that is around that size i think, it looks fine.\
It is HD since 720p is considered HD i would say 900p Is also HD
