[SOLVED] Is a 2008 Mac Pro still considered fast?

Get it and replace the HDDs with either newer ones, or some SSDs, or both! The rest of the hardware is very good for that price.
It will depend on what you are planning to do with it, what it has been used for, and what state the drives are in. After 7 years I would imagine the HDDs are going to be pretty slow, but swapping some new ones in would fix that - otherwise it should be ok.

my NAS with an Intel Atom processor can do that, to multiple devices simultaneously. A 2008 Mac Pro will have no problems what so ever.
