Is a 2gb GPU not going to be enough in the near furure

Solution

Depends when you upgrade. 660's were relased in 2012 and are now only $100. So if you upgrade in about 2-3 years, it'll probably be worht about $40 dollars (or less if light-based computing hits int he next few years). Regardless of what you buy...
Most games are starting to take advantage of higher memory in the gpu. For instance, Skyrim with some mods can use over 4GB of gpu memory. However, not all games are doing that at the present time. I would suggest going with 4gb and less oc, because you can always oc it yourself later. As for longevity of your build goes, however, definitely go with more memory (unless sli/crossfire)

Unless SLI, but SLI dosn't give you twice as much ram does it?

I assume you mean gpu memory. If you have two cards, 4gb each, then you will have a 8gb SLI

Will the higher GB graphics cards be cheaper in 2-3 years than the GTX 780 is now, I didn't get the 4GB version because it wasn't on sale so I couldn't afford it, got the superclocked £100 off. Also if I get the classified version later and use SLI with my 2GB card will it bump up to 4gb, stay at 2gb or go inbetween with 3gb?

My suggestion would to go with a gtx780. While it only has 3gb, it performs much better. Memory size doesn't mean quality, it means quantity, So a 770 with 4 gb does 1 unit of processing/unit of time. It can do up to 4gb worth of these processes per unit of time. A 780 with 3gb does 1.3 unit of processing/unit of time. It can do up to 3gb worth of these processes per unit of time. Thats a very rough analogy for you. I would go with the 780 right now because it will allow for future updates as well as it is newer than the 770, so it will become obsolete later. If you really want to make your gpu last, go with the gtx800s in february. They will cost a fortune but will last about 1 extra year than the 700s.

Basically go 780. But don't take my word for it, double check with other sources as well. You never ever want to ask only once for things greater than $150.

But people say "With SLI you don't double up on usable VRAM, so your if your 1st card has 4gb VRAM so should your 2nd card. If your 2nd card only has 2GB VRAM your system will only use 2GB VRAM in total."

correct. usuable, only 4gb total. if you are doing bitcoin mining etc there are ways to utilize all 8 gb

To get this straight... I can't afford anything more than a 770, By the time I need more (2-3 years) the GPU's would have advanced massively and getting SLI would be pointless with only 2gb by then (I got the superclocked 2gb). Even if I got the 4gb card I would have never got SLI anyway (they stop making them). So if I want to upgrade in the future I just sell my 770. Right?
