I plan to get my daugther a new 1440p monitor, but I am unsure if the PC is good enough for 1440p gaming.

Current specs are as follows:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B660M Gaming AC DDR4
CPU: i5-13600KF
GPU: RTX 3060
SSD: Samsung 980 NVMe 1TB
RAM: G Skill DDR4 3200 C16 8GB x 2

BUT - is the RTX3060 good enough for 1440p gaming?

She plays these games:

Sims4 (lots of CC)
Hogwards Legacy
Jedi Survivor
PlanetZoo

Aeacus

Titan
Ambassador

Depends on target FPS.

RTX 3060, when it launched a year ago, could do 70-80 FPS on 1440p Ultra settings;

But if to consider current date and also compared to RTX 40-series, RTX 3060 averages around 55 FPS;

Overall, i say that there is no issue since none of the games "require" high FPS and are comfortably playable at ~ 55 FPS on 1440p, if Ultra settings are used.
But if more FPS is needed, all one needs to do, is to reduce in-game graphics quality levels.

Thanks. The lower illustration is very helpful.
As the owner of a 3060 pushing a 1440p panel. It is possible in many titles now, albeit barely, to hit 60fps with decent settings. Upscaling helps where possible. I doubt it'll be possible for future titles. If you can budget for something more potent then I would suggest that. I will be replacing mine as soon as it's financially possible (I just spent my GPU budget on a laptop).

No it is not if you want 60 FPS in all games without big compromises in most latest titles.

Though if you do get the 3060, hopefully you pick up a 12GB version.

I would recommend looking used at 3070's or upwards, Radeon 6800 etc.
