Question Is a 4K 144hz monitor worth getting with the RTX 2080?

I’m considering buying the gaming x trio variation of the RTX 2080 (which I’ll definitrly overclocked if I buy it) and I’m considering pairing it with a 4K 144hz monitor, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s worth it. I don’t play many demanding games, probably the most demanding game I’m playing right now is doom. However, I feel like it might be better to get a 1440p 165hz monitor since I could get a significantly higher refresh rate in games, and be more prepared for the future in case I start to play more graphically demanding games. What do you guys think?

Current 4K 144 Hz monitors only support up to 120 Hz at full color, they require chroma subsampling (reduced color resolution) to run at 144 Hz. Honestly I'd wait for future generations of such monitors before paying such a huge amount for them.
