I will soon be building a pc for my first time and I'm wondering if 600 watt is enough for this setup:

Intel core I7-950 3.06 ghz
8 gigs ram 2x4
Cooler master rc 692
Msi x58a mb
1 tb hard drive
Asus DVD burner
Sapphire radeon 1 gb graphics card gddr5 (idk what model yet)

Firstly, opt for a triple channel set for memory.. X58 boards have triple channel memory compatibility.. You can get a 3 x 4GB ram set for a decent price.. Now for the PSU, you need to be sure of which video card you are gonna buy and what are your future plans (like putting up a dual video card setup etc)..

A 600W PSU (provided from a good brand) will be enough to handle any single video card based configuration.. However, if you are planning on never opting for SLI or Crossfire then go for a Sandy Bridge build instead..

An Antec above a Cooler Master Silent Pro? Sad and funny. Read the entire post before you reply.

The cooler master silent pro 600 is one of the better units from the CM camp.. For a 100$ budget however, you will be hard pressed to find a unit better than the Antec TP 750.. Its a steal at that price, even if you do not need that much power..
