Hello everyone.

I'm building a pc with a rtx 3060 (not TI) and a ryzen 5600x. All the psu calculators have shown my pc will have a wattage of about 400W. Alot of the 550W psu aren't available for me and I've read some stuff online that people with this setup usually opt for a 650w. I can get a seasonic focus 750w and 650w for pretty much the same price. So will going for the 750w be fine since i'll only be using about 60% of it?

Thanks

Solution
There is no such thing as too big PSU. Sure, with budget constraints you want the lowest possible wattage because it is usually cheaper. However if set prices aside there is absolutely no problem with using wattage way bigger then really needed. The worst that can happen is loosing a bit of efficiency but that effect starts at about double required wattage (so in your case 800W+ PSU would be less efficient).

go for the 750.
a PSU will only use what system asks for (so u can use a 60w system and a 1200w psu even) however the benefit of a higher watt psu? efficiency. IIRC msot all PSU have best eff around the 40-60% load. (varies by psu) Also leaves future upgrade path w/o buying new PSU.
