Is a 7950 overkill for me?

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade from my HD 7770, and was looking at the HD 7870 and HD 7950.
My monitor is 1680x1050 so im not sure if I really need the 7950, as I believe the 7870 may be able to max most games.

Any advice would be great! Thanks!

yep. overkill.

unless you get yourself a 1080p monitor you don't need to upgrade (actually i have a 1080p monitor and i'm playing most game on high/ultra just fine on my 7770)

Yeah id get the 7950 and be safer
