Question is a 850 WATT PSU enough for a single rtx 2080 ti

looking to upgrade to a rtx 2080 ti ftw3 or msi rtx 2080 lightening Z would a 850 watt psu be enough for a single card? thanks!

Only if the 850W is of good quality.
You can also get away with a 650W of good quality as well

um its a EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3, 80 Plus Gold 850W,
i was also wondering if i had head room for over clocking

That PSU is nice.

You haven't listed your entire system but
2080ti = 300W max
Cpu = 150W
Other stuff - 30 watts
Try not to run PSU's etc over 70% power
so if the total is about 500W then anything from a 650W will be good

The 980 draws about 240W and the 2080ti no more than 300W
