Question Is a chair a peripheral?

I am looking at the Herman Miller chairs, specifically the Aeron size B. I am not only a tall fellow, but a bit bigger than I used to be, and it appears on the size chart I fall between the B and C, and the chart says to use the B in that case.

I notice a HUGE difference in pricing for this chair when looking on the official site and places like 'the jungle' or even local office furniture outlets. Aside from my concern about possibly getting a fake chair (I looked up the label and how to tell), these things aren't inexpensive at all. JayZ says it is possibly the best chair he has ever put cheek to....

I would like some feedback from folks that perhaps aren't being paid to say so. Thoughts?

There is a Herman Miller showroom in Atlanta. I thought for a moment to go there till I looked up the pricing at the showroom. There is a significant difference between even the base chair between there and the jungle site.

Above and beyond that aspect, I wouldn't mind hearing some feedback of what other owners thought of the 'investment'. A couple of years ago I opted to pick up a chair that is at least off the bottom of the budget pile. The structure of the chair is going to leave me on my fanny at any moment, but has held on to that last thread for a surprising amount of time. The manufacturer put a lifetime warranty on the leather, their mistake, so this is the second one which isn't covered. They both failed in a very similar way at the base plate. I note the availability of a lot of the (Miller) components like the headrest, seat, pneumatics online for purchase separately.

if you may be interested in a different brand;

i bought a Flash Furniture brand 'Hercules 24/7' ~4 years ago and it is the most comfortable office chair i've ever tried out of my 43 years.
think it was about $250 when i got it.

nice padding that's very comfy,
cloth instead of leather/pleather,
more than tall enough and wide enough for my 6.2" 200lb frame,
swivel / tilt / lift / adjustable arm rests.

i don't even use my recliner anymore when watching the TV because this thing is quite a bit more comfortable.

not flashy looking at all but surprisingly good product.

I appreciate the suggestion. I have used various versions of similar designs over the years and the chair I have now is somewhat similar. It is a Serta branded chair, think it cost me about $300 when I got it. Superb comfort at first. Once this issue with the base plate starts I don't even realize how much I have gotten used to sitting crooked.
The other issue is that I want to try a mesh. These chairs are hot as can be in my already at issue with heat home office space. Not planning on buying an in room AC unit quite yet, but figured trying mesh (in coming winter season) might be a good idea when summer gets here again. Otherwise, I can just OC my 11900K and the room heats up fine.

I ended up with a chair called Steelcase. It is used, but doesn't have a mark or indication on it that it was ever actually sat in. The pneumatics are firm as is the seat cushion which is leather. The back of the chair is mesh and has an adjustment for the stiffness leaning back. The arm rests are fully adjustable not only up and down but forward and back, side to side, and some skew/angle. The only aspect that is currently bothering me is the armrest as they move a bit too easily. I haven't yet found a button or anything that locks the float, as it were.
The positioning is on point. The height and the small arm rests make it where I am more on level with my desk and in a far better ergonomic position. I am hoping this might help with some arm and wrist trouble I have had over the years.

Anywho, the Herman Miller chairs do look nice. Maybe sometime down the road, but I just couldn't pull on that given the pricing for the features I wanted.
