[SOLVED] Is a Cougar GX1050 80+ Gold PSU good?

I was looking to upgrade from my current FSP Aurum 92+ 650w PSU... Would that PSU be a good upgrade from it? I bought it new last year but I'm looking for a better one... Would the GX1050 be good?

Whoops I haven't updated my new system since I just recently built it. I run an R7 2700 with a 1070ti on a B450m Mortar Max with 8gbx2 3600mhz Klev Cras X RAM... Would the 650w PSU be able to handle it considering I want to OC a bit on the Ryzen?

It's just as old as your current one.

650w is still fine, for what you have. Even if you wanted a better quality unit, 1050w is overkill. A quality 750w is plenty. Anything over 850w would be a waste.

What wattage would be best for future proofing purposes? Might get a 3000 series gpu next year once the scalping is done...

Depends on which 3000 series you get. A 3080, a quality 750w is recommended. 850w to give a bit of cushion, for overclocking.

For a 3080, if you are an overclocker, yea, an 850w is probably not a terrible idea.
