Is a Dell XPS 8500 compatible with DDR3L?

I have a Dell XPS 8500 with an i7 3770 and a default motherboard. How do i find out if it is compatible with DDR3L RAM?

DDR3 is 1.5V RAM while DDR3L is a lower voltage RAM rated for 1.35V and may give problems on your system. It is typically used in later Intel processor systems that have a lower voltage memory controller.

Although it's possible there are some excpetions, for all parts that I've checked, DDR3L has been capable of running at either 1.35v or 1.5v, so it will work with any memory controller that supports 1.35v and/or 1.5v RAM. If you want to confirm that, then you can check e.g. Cruicial's web site, where they list both DDR3 and DDR3L memory as being compatible with the Dell XPS 8500.
