is a gtx 1080 worth 60$ more than a 1070ti ?

It depends on what you are trying to get out of it. In your case trying to avoid upgrading the 1080 might be better. It'll definitely give you more flexibility and outright power

no, $60 is not worth it.
1080 and 1070ti are very similar in performance, there is no game that 1080 handles well and 1070ti handles poorly.
if you don't want to upgrade for 5-6 years, and want something better than a 1070ti, go for the 1080ti.

What cards are you looking at?


With the higher end GTX 1080's like the EVGA FTW2 yes it is defiantly, especially those with the 11GBS GDDR5X memory.

With those there is a rather large difference between the 1070TI and 1080.

MOST of the reviews are complete BS because they use the reference 1080's and compare the aftermarket 1070Ti to those to slant the results to what they want them to be. The results are artificially closer then they really should be as the result.

In reality you would have to OC the 1070Ti to the moon and still won't touch one of the higher end 1080's performance wise.
