Question Is a GTX 1660 Ti compatable with a gigabyte 78LMT USB3 R2 motherboard

I have a older graphics card and I wanted to know if it was comparable and if it was better then a 1060 since it’s not to much more price wise I wanted to get the best for my dollar.

On the FX platform stick to your 1060.

A 1660 Ti will be better than a 1060 -- it trades blows with a 1070 Ti -- but even a 1060 is going to stretch the capabilities of any AM3+ CPU. You'll see a very reduced benefit to an upgrade and this upgrade only makes sense if you're sure you're going to undertake a platform upgrade in the very near future.

it will improve performance but you would also see an improvement with upgrading to ryzen

If you already have a GTX 1060, no higher than that. If you don't have one yet, I wouldn't go above a 1050 Ti without a platform upgrade.

A 1060 6GB or RX580 8GB on the FX platform is the highest I would go. Beyond that is a waste.

Well I just need some GeForce graphics cards that would be best for my motherboard because it seems the 1660 is to much compared to my motherboard and eventually I will get a new motherboard but right now I need a graphics card

1060 pairs well with your current setup. If your upgrading soon get the 1660.
