Is a GTX 760 too much for 500W PSU?

I want to get a GTX 760 however Guru 3D's review states its best to have a 550W PSU the problem being i currently have a Corsair CX 500 and dont really want to fork out another £60 for a 650W PSU.

This will be my first graphic card buy (been using onboard graphics on CPU) and hope to use it to play FarCry 3, Skyrim, Watchdogs, Arma 3 etc. as well as Sim racing games on the highest quality possible for my system.

My specs:

Processor- Intel i5-3570k
Memory- 2x Corsair Vengeance 4gb
PSU- Corsair 500W CX Builder
Storage- 120gb SSD and 500gb HDD 7200 rpm
Cooling- 5 120mm fans and controller
CD drive and Card Reader
TV tuner card

I will not be overclocking, will i be able to use the card to its full without fear of overworking my PSU?
do you think this card is a good choice, is there a significant bottle neck?

That is a good PSU. The 760 requires 30A on the 12V rail, and the CX500 has 38A. No worries, you will be fine.

but what about getting a MSI card http:// that is overclocked from the factory, will this have an effect?

Not really.It may draw a bit more power,but nothing serious.
If you decide to push it even further,it should still get enough power from your current PSU(the 760 isn't that hungry for power).

from looking around second hand gtx 670 cards are a bit cheaper, is it the same story with that too?

If you can get a 670 for cheaper then get that. 670 is better, more so when overclocked.
