Is a i5 2400 good enough for a gtx 650 ti

Hi I have this intel core 2 quad q6600 and its bottle necking my gtx 650 ti I have a i5 2400 lying around and have the motherboard with its correct socket is it good enough will it bottle neck my gtx 650 ti

If you are able to overclock the q6600 the bottleneck will disappear.

As for the i5 it would be a massive upgrade.

to 3Ghz, in games that are cpu dependent this wont help that much but it will prevent the cpu from holding back the gpu.

Note that these games are not nearly as cpu dependent as newer games

An i5-2400 will easily outrun a core 2 quad 6600 regardless of the video card.
