Hi, I got a new MSI 3070 Ti Ventus for $450 (before tax) from Best Buy from what appears to be a price error, as the page for it at that price disappeared quickly. It's ready for pick-up at my local best buy. My initial impression is that it's a decent deal at $450 because the MSRP of a FE 3070 Ti is $600, but I've seen a lot of criticism for the Ventus line, and the prices for GPUs are coming down. I'm unsure whether this is a good purchase. I'm currently on a Gigabyte 1080 Windforce, so I'd like an upgrade, but I'm not in dire need of one and can wait.

Brand new? With a warranty? Under MSRP? That's a steal.

While MSI Ventus is their lowest performing one, it still is better than Nvidia FE version, since it has, for the very least, custom aftermarket cooler and power delivery.
Also, it would be solid upgrade,

Yup. The Best Buy listing states it has the normal 3 year manufacturer warranty

Isn't Userbenchmark notoriously unreliable for consistent data?

It's up to you, which comparison site to use, to compare hardware.

I prefer it since it is composed by user submitted results, while some other is using only the best sample to compare GPUs.
E.g PassMark: https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/GeForce-GTX-1080-vs-GeForce-RTX-3070-Ti/3502vs4413

In PassMark, only the best performing GPU, from each model, is used to compare against another GPU. "Cherry-picked" best performance is nowhere near to real world usage. While UserBenchmark gives you average score, more realistic to real world.
