Anyone use the room? I dont see much point in it myself and it's taking
money.

At the moment my guy is camped on top of a statue in Queynos 🙂

Your room is the only way you can set up a trader like EQ's bazaar. If you
don't use the room, you won't lose the stuff inside it. Only time the room
is compulsory is during the citizenship quest, make sure you finish that
before you owe rent.

I love mine, for stashing quest rewards, etc.

In fact, I've just created an alt whose main purpose will be making
furniture for my main's house.

Where do you get the time to do all of this?

It is taking me ages to try and work one character upto something
approaching a ok level (lvl 12 warrior at the moment).

How can you work so many different people. I spend ages just collecting
resources for my guy to use.

An "ok level" seems to imply that leveling is important to you. I have
been playing since the second week, casual at best, and I just left
n00b isle yesterday. My level max'd a few days ago (pre citizen
cap)and my artisan capped at level 9, 10 impending.

Just because the game says you can leave, or do this or that, doesn't
mean it is in your character's best interest to do so. I stayed around
n00b isle because I wanted to max my artisan skills. Being on n00b
isle made maxxing it easy because I knew where the resources spawned
and I knew what named dropped items that I could sell to the merchants
for money to fund my artisan crafting. By the time I left yesterday, I
had lots of backpacks, all my app 3 spells, and a minor armor upgrade.

If getting to the next zone that offers the best exp is your forte;
well then you'll have little time for much else than your main. One
thing I did notice was that with artisan crafting, you have moments
where you push all the right keys and things still go wrong (less than
pristine) and have it do so two times in a row. So god help those who
figure they'll go back and do this later when this is all they focus
on. I try to at least keep artisan and class levels pretty much at
parity. Keeps the frustration/burn out level low.

So it's not that there isn't time, it's just how you use the time you
have. EQ1 taught me that class leveling as an "ends" is an endless
treadmill leading to burn out if that is all you focus on. Slow down,
enjoy the game, explore the zones, see what trinkets you can make,
ect...

My main is a lvl 16 Rogue, and gets most XP from quest rewards. I'd
say about 60% or more of my XP has come from rewards, the rest from
kills. Talk to everyone in a zone, complete as amny as you can right
away, then pickanother zone. Do the same, and you'll soon have, for
example, 2-5 quests in Oakmyst, The Bog, etc. Kill what you have to,
then go back. A lot of running around, but good xp and lots of cash
and rewards.

Or you can team up, and level that way. Some of my Guildmates are 20,
and have completed their sublass quests. I'm a LONG way from that -
too busy collecting and crafting.

I'm a compulsive collector, so spend a LOT of time in Oakmyst, looking
for ?'s. As I do, I harvest everything I find, then bank them in the
share slots. My new alt, still on the Isle, uses them to craft.
Because she's a pure crafter (no adventuring or harvesting), it's very
quick levelling her artisan skills.

Yep - if I die twice in a short space of time, I usually either take
all my raw materials and go crafting, or head to Oakmyst or The Bog
and hunt ?'s and mine tier 1 materials for my alt.

So my skills are never more than 2 levels apart (actually, I've just
got Scholar 16, so I'm now 16/16).

Downside - I have 23 collection quests on the go. 😀

What I am finding is that if I am not careful I can shoot ahead with my
adventuring level and leave the crafting behind. All it takes is joining a
group and going on the warpath for a few hours 🙂

I do look around sometimes though and spend time fishing etc. I have just
begun to look at crafting (lvl 8 at the moment), and that is now taking up
most of my time. I want to get within a level or two of my adventuing level
and maintain this.

I'm starting to run out of money though, so I am going to have to do some
quests again 🙂
