Is a Router with Ethernet more secure than with wireless connection?
Most current routers have both.
But how your device connects to it is the key.

An ethernet cable is more secure, in that it cannot be sniffed between PC and the router.
But, a properly configured WiFi is pretty secure as well.

WPS - WiFi Protected Sharing. An attempt to make WiFi 'easier'. Resulted in a horribly broken password thing, that is not even a speed bump for someone that wants to break in.

Chinese characters? No. Your router may not speak Mandarin.
Seriously.

What does it mean outside from lan?

I can not find my routers ip to enter the settings . Where can i find it?
For instance:

If you were at Starbucks, on their free WiFi, you could connect to your router and do all those administration things.
This is usually a bad idea.

It is almost always OFF by default.

You find that by logging into the router, and looking around.
username/password for the router, not for the WiFi. They are different.

There is an option, it says DEACTIVATE SSID, but when i click on it it disconnects my connection.
But there is another option: Hide SSID from all Basestations

2,4 GHz-Basestation
and
2,4 GHz-Basestation.

I can not find DISABLE EXTERNAL ACCESS,
Where do I have to look for it?
