Solution
it's fine.
But if you're buying new, you better be getting a good deal on it, and it better come with at least a B350 motherboard, and 3000Mhz or faster RAM.

Otherwise, second gen Ryzen is the better way to go.
If you happen to be buying new, please provide us with your budget, what country you're in, and what components you may have already purchased for the build so that we may better help you with choosing of the right components for your budget.

Also, if you already have certain components already, please only provide the budget you have to spend towards components you have yet to buy.

If this is a system upgrade where you already have everything and you are just looking to upgrade the CPU and GPU, let us know what platform you are upgrading from by telling us what CPU you have and the RAM you have.
Not just the amount of RAM, but it's brand, model, and speeds.

Because with Ryzen, RAM is very very important and you need to make sure you have the right kind of RAM for it, otherwise, you won't be getting maximizing it's potential and could potentially make it perform worse than it should.
