Question Is a Ryzen 7 2700 compatible with a Micro-ATX motherboard?

I just obtained a Ryzen 7 2700 and I was wondering since it has the tower like fan is it still compatible with a Micro-ATX motherboard (GIGABYTE B450M DS3H)?

Tower fan? Did you buy this used from someone? If the cooler is not the stock fan it may require an adapter to fit a different board than it was originally installed on. I am a fool and was thinking the Threadrippers Fan was the same for the Ryzen 7s. All I really wanted to know if the board and CPU were compatible.

yes its 65W part. I would not use 2700X though as its 95W part and in micro format, VRM would be toasty, as its naked on that board I would buy some of those small radiators & some glued thermal pad:

Gigabyte B450M-DS3H CPU Support List

The Ryzen 7 2700 is on the list with the initial BIOS, so the processor is supported by the motherboard, out of the box.
