Is a second graphics card needed?

Hi. My father is determined to get me a second graphics card this christmas, but personally I don't think it's needed. I come from console gaming and so, although I like to have all settings maxed, I am quite happy with an fps of 30 or more.

I do hope to have 4 moniters in the future (3 for gaming and one for other things like maps) and so i can see the second card helping there.

Here is my current system:

i7 4770k (not overclocked but might go to 4.0 Ghz in far future or next year as birthday treat)
8 GB hyperx blu ram (2 sticks but one day will go to 16 GB with an extra 2)
Z87 Sabertooth
2 500 GB drives in raid 0 to make 1 TB
MSI GeForce GTX 670 OC
(^This is the card my dad wants to get a second one of for me^)

Don't get me wrong. I would love this and it's a good time aswell. The prices have gone down because of the 780 ti and this card keeps being shipped with game offers (Assasin's creed black flag and splinter cell blackflag at time of typing)

So, at the end of this, my question is what are your suggestions and feedback? I've looked at benchmarks with suggest that my system will perform as if it had a 690 in it. Would the fact that both of the cards are overclocked mean it would be more powerful? Same with the 2 GB VRAM per gpu instead of 1.5? During the BF 4 beta I got 45 fps. What do you think it would perform like with the second graphics card on 3 monitors at 1080p (or higher)? not worried about some other games though as when I played Batman: Arkham Origins i usually get just under 100 fps, sometimes over. (tried several fps measuring programs and this is what they say)
The only other use of the money for the graphics card would be an ssd and/or ram. I'm not that bothered about loading times and boot-up speeds but I do like to have a lot of things running at the same time.

Again, What is your feedback and opinions?

With a Triple monitor setup (stereoscopic 3D/eyefinity) a second card or even third card is recommended. I'm not sure if 2 670's will handle that with everything maxed out. I have a feeling VRAM will become an issue. You will have to look into getting something like 2 780 ti's or 2 290x cards and also check that they have 3 to 4gb's of VRAM per card.

I wish I could but thats a little too... expensive... for me.
also everytime I mesion getting a different card evryone kinda scorns me so... yeah.

Also I'm a tiny bit of an nvidia fanboy. (nothing wrong with amd, I just prefer nvidia)
