Is adapter ram seperate from vram? What is it?

Hi, I've done google searches and couldn't find an answer I was comfortable with. I have HD 7990 and AMD catalyst system information lists both my gpu cores as having 1GB of adapter ram. Exactly what is adapter RAM? Is it seperate from Video RAM - because my card is meant to have 3GB per core.

Yup, Windows 7 64 bit.

grab gpuz and check using that, it could just be a problem with catalyst control centre.

Yeah GPU-Z shows the correct amount, 3072MB. So adapter RAM isn't anything unique? It's just the program showing the wrong amount? (Dxdiag did the same thing).

adapter ram is your graphics ram, i just think the programs aren't showing it correctly but gpuz tends to.
