Ive got an AMD Athlon x4 870k 4.1 GHz (CPU) and I'm planning to upgrade my GPU to GTX 1060 6gb.
I'm just wondering if my CPU is good enough to handle some newer games at High Settings like:
Hitman 2, Shadow of the Tomb Rider, Apex Legends. Or is it gonna bottleneck my GPU too much?

My current setup:
CPU: Athlon x4 870k
GPU: GT 740
RAM: 8gb
HDD: 500gb

Thanks!

WHatever framerates you were able to get at 640 x 480, you will then be able to get at least those framerates on 1080P with max detail....

Will you get the same framerates as a 2700X, 7700K or 8700K? Of course not...

But, there will be a large improvement, and, at much higher res with all texture/detail in every single game...? You bet.

(And, you can carry that card with you this summer when you get an X570 board and R7-3700X, etc....!)

Eventually, the X4 will need retirement, as even at 4 GHz, it will be outperformed by 4 year old Pentiums and i3s, and at lesser clock speeds...
