I am currently saving for a "Top of the line" system however from PcPartPicker it lists 850w PSUs (from "reliable brands") at minimum £90 and 1000w PSUs at around £120

I would definitely do a 1000w PSU, for this. There are some other things, that I would change though too. Motherboard already has wifi 6, so that extra card isn't needed. Crucial P5 Plus 500gb is faster, and not much more, than that 250gb 970 evo. Same for that 2tb drive. That 3080 12gb is way overpriced. Unless you really care about ray tracing, or you need Nvidia for some kind of software, you might want to consider a cheaper 6900xt. If you do, there are still better priced options, on the 3080. Any particular reason why you think you need that 10gb adapter? I would also use a more air flow oriented case.

.

Keep in mind, as I see you said saving up, this is going to likely change in the not to distant future, as we have next gen from AMD, Intel, and Nvidia coming yet this year.

500GB SSD for Windows. Built in WiFi means you don't need a WiFi adapter. Most all cpu coolers come with either a small tube of thermal paste or pre applied thermal paste.

Here's a few cost cutters to consider. The difference between the 12900K / KF and the 12700K / KF is two frames per second on average at 1080P. The difference between the 12700K / KF and the 12700 / 12700F is one frame per second on average at 1080P. At 1440P those differences are non existent.

Would the Corsair Crystal Series 680X case provide enough airflow for this build? (Link Here)
