Is an i5 3470 and GTX 960 a good combination?

Hello do these go together well without either bottlenecking the other? I game at a maximum 1080p. How soon do you think the 2 GB v ram on the GTX 960 will become an issue?

Looks good to me, any i5 quad core is good enough.

At 1080P 2GB is fine, however EVGA now makes the worlds first 4GB gtx960 if you want to dish out an extra $20 for that.

Vram will probably never be an issue at 1080p. No the i5 wont bottleneck the 960.

I woulden't get the 4gb version of the 960 i think that is just for marketing, i have no idea how they expect to use 4gb of vram on a 128bit bus.

The 960 and 280x are pretty much on par with each other in some games the 280x wins by a few frames in others the 960 wins by a few frames.

You are talking about the non x version. And if you grt the gigabyte windforce edition it's oced out of the box. Mine the noj x version was already clocked to 1071 mhz, but when advertised itnsaid it's only 950 😀 So get x version and be heppy
