[SOLVED] Is an rx 470 or 480 with 8gb ram and i5 3470 good for gaming?

I'd like to play most of the games at 720p with good fps and with med settings, is it good? and what psu should I get for the rx gpu?

Depends on the game. Many modern AAA games will struggle to achieve 60fps with an older quad core/thread cpu and only 8gb RAM. Running lower settings won’t really help. However a lot of other games will run very well. A good quality 550w psu or better will do.

Why running on lower settings won't help?

Generally the cpu determines the best FPS you can achieve. The gpu determines at what resolution and game settings you can achieve that FPS at. Most game settings don’t impact cpu workload, only the gpu.
