VP550P is a budget PSU from Antec, and its better than many other PSUs (corsair VS/ CX/ CS/ CXM/ builder), on level with EVGA 500B/600B.

Anyways but I usually wouldn't recommend anything within that range of PSU (I presume it is a tier 3?). I would try to aim for a tier 1-2 as you would know too.

Actually, that list, if you observe carefully, hasn't been updated since Nov '13. VP550P is same as 450P or 350P, Tier 2 B, very fine for budget users. Simply enough, VP350P has 8.3 rating on TechPowerUp (And its T2B on list):
