Hi, I've decided to get a PS4 now and I have to change my display to play at 1080p. However I wanted to know if the display I've chosen actually good for PS4? Would appreciate the answers. Thanks!

Solution

Actually, I want to do Live Streams and videos on YouTube and Twitch. I'm using a moderately powerful PC to make videos and do live streams. My current internet is good enough for awesome HD streams on YouTube and it only lags a little bit on Twitch so that will improve soon. The platform tho, I'm really confused about what to get. I've been doing some research and PS4...
A PS4 is a casual gaming system. Heck, some do it on TV's! As long as it is 1080p and the size of your liking go for it. After all you wont be doing anything competetive on it really...

So basically just get one you like.

Well the Cod Scene although not the most popular of esports is definitely not dead so he might be playing competitive actually.

I've been doing some research and PS4 apparently lowers he connection speed and wouldn't that affect my streams? I'm really confused on what to get. Yeah I will be playing competitive CoD and Rainbow Six but my first priority is streaming and recording.
My PC specs right now are:
i5-2500 3.3ghz
8GB RAM DDR3 1333Mhz
GT 730
If I choose to upgrade my PC, then I will get a RX 470 and 16GB RAM for now but I don't know if my processor is good enough for streaming TWITCH*. I'm so confused about this..

While that processor is old and it might struggle on the relatively newer titles such as Grand Theft Auto it could all be made up for with your fast internet connection! Don't worry, looks relatively solid for streaming if you get the mentioned RAM and GPU.

Thanks. Remember to mark as solved if I answered your question!

I have no idea why you'd think a ps4 would reduce your connection speed??
That's entirely untrue.

On the other angle if it's a choice of a ps4 or upgrading your pc then a 1060 3gb would make more sense simply because nvidia shadowplay integrates fairly seamlessly with twitch streaming.

Using the GPU itself to stream only hits you with a 10% max fps drop & doesn't rely on the CPU.

Native hardware based twitch live streaming is something that at the moment the RX cards lack

I believe my questions have been answered. And well, I'll be going for a PS4 for my streaming needs because I personally want a PS4.. It's like idk how to explain it but I just know I'll regret not getting a PS4 lol
