Is Athlon 760k x4 a true quad core processor?

I heard FX 6300 actually has 3 bulldozer modules but works as 6 cores. Is the Athlon 760k like that? And I know FX-6300 is better than Athlon 760k x4 but then again FM2+ mobos have been refreshed recently and AM3+ haven't been in a while. So, it'd really help if someone cleared this confusion.

Nope, the 760k x4 is just like the FX-*3** CPUs since it uses the same Piledriver architecture.

FX-6300 is slightly better than the 760k so if they are available at the same prices I would recommend FX-6300.
